How to register password strength

You may register many password strength types on the senhasegura platform, each with its own set of requirements, including the quantity of uppercase and lowercase characters, symbols, and numbers. The password strength refers to the password composition generated randomly and automatically by senhasegura during the password exchange process.

To register a new password strength, follow the steps below:

  1. In the top left corner, click Grid Menu, represented by the nine squares icon, and select PAM Core.
  2. In the side menu, select Settings > Credentials > Password strength.
  3. In the top menu, click the View actions icon, represented by the three vertical dots, and select + New.
  4. In the pop-up window called Password strength, fill in the following fields:
    1. Name: name for your password strength.
    2. Lowercase letters: fill in the number of lowercase letters that will be required in the password.
    3. Uppercase letters: fill in the number of uppercase letters that will be required in the password.
    4. Numbers: fill in the number of numbers required in the password.
    5. Symbols: fill in the number of symbols required in the password.
    6. Allowed symbols: check the options for the symbols that will be allowed in the password.
    7. Allow repeated character?: select Yes to allow the user to repeat characters in the password. Otherwise, select No. By default, it’s set to No.
    8. Enable: keep Yes select if you want the password strength to be active. Otherwise, select No.
  5. Click Save.

For information purposes, the bottom part of the form shows the number of possible combinations, given the password criteria.

How to edit a password strength

You can edit any of the Password Strength records by following these steps:

  1. In the top left corner, click Grid Menu, represented by the nine-square icon, and select PAM Core.
  2. In the side menu, select Settings > Credentials > Password strength.
  3. In the list of password strength records, identify the one you want to edit and, in the Action column, click Edit, represented by the pencil and paper icon.
  4. In the Password strength pop-up window, change the fields according to your needs. The form is the same as in the How to register a password strength section.
  5. Click Save.

If you need to, you can find out who created that password strength. Just hover your mouse over the eye icon at the bottom of the window to discover the creator. It also shows the record of the last modification with the user, date, and time.
