How to establish an RDP connection via RDP Gate

Prev Next

You can use any RDP client to connect to remote devices through Segura® RDP Proxy. This document guides you on how to configure your connection and log into the platform using the customized port for SaaS.

Requirements

  • A Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client installed on your workstation.
  • A user account for access to the Segura® Platform.

Connecting to the remote device

  1. Open your Remote Desktop Connection application.
  2. In the Computer field, type the address of your SaaS tenant followed by port 43389.
    1. Example: hostname_segura:43389
  3. The User name field is optional at this moment. If you prefer, you can fill it in when the Segura® Platform login screen is displayed.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. On the Segura® Platform login screen, fill in the details:
    1. User: Your registered username on the platform.
    2. Password: Your Segura® Platform access password.
    3. Click Login.
    Attention

If your Segura® Platform user password has expired, the RDP Gate will display a message asking you to change it through the web interface before allowing the session to continue.

  6. If your profile requires MFA Token, enter the code generated by your authentication device.
  7. In the list of devices and credentials, select the credential you want to use for the remote session.
  8. Click Start Session.
  9. If a welcome banner is displayed, read the message and click OK.

After these steps, the remote session will be initiated and ready for use.

Access via RDP management tools

For tools that allow saving connections (such as Microsoft Remote Desktop or RDCMan), use the following settings to connect directly:

  1. Host Name: Type the address of your SaaS tenant followed by port 43389.
    1. Example: your_tenant.segura:43389
  2. User Account: Use the format segura_user%saas_tenant.
    1. Example: joao.silva%corporation_tenant

When initiating the connection through these tools, Segura® will request your password and MFA token before displaying the list of available devices.

Info

All connections via RDP Gate are audited and may have video recording enabled according to your company's security policies.
You can block or interrupt active sessions if necessary. To understand how to manage sessions in real-time, access the document How to block a user during a session.
