How to configure remote partitions

The orbit partition command allows you to list, add, or remove remote partitions used to forward database backup, session files, and information encrypted with the master key.

Adding a CIFS remote partition

To interact with the CIFS protocol and its mounting options in the Linux environment, the Debian cifs-utils package is used insenhasegura. This package is maintained by the SAMBA developers. For detailed information about available mounting options, see the official cifs-utils manual.

The –remote-path argument must start with the slash and contain only the destination directory.

Remount a registered remote partition

To remount a partition, if the destination server has been inaccessible for a while, generating an error on the remote partition, use the orbit partition –remount command.

Unmount and keep a registered remote partition

To dismount the remote partition while keeping it registered in the /etc/fstab file, use the orbit partition –umount command.

Unmount and remove a registered remote partition

To unmount the remote partition, use the orbit partition –delete command. This command will unmount the partition and remove it from the /etc/fstab file.
