How to deploy on Azure

This document provides information for deploying Segura® Platform on Microsoft Azure, with two available options:

• Using a public virtual appliance, available directly via Azure.
• Manually uploading the virtual appliance in VHD format to your storage account.

Step 1: Select a public virtual appliance

At this stage, you must choose which method will be used to start the application deployment on Azure.

Option 1: How to deploy on Azure using a public virtual appliance

With this option, you can perform a faster deployment using a public virtual appliance available through Azure Marketplace.

Requirements

Your location must be compatible with one of the available virtual appliances.

Select a virtual appliance

1. Log in to Microsoft Azure.
2. In the Services category, select Community Images.
3. In the search bar at the top left of the Community Images page, enter segura to filter the available virtual appliances.
4. From the available options, select the virtual appliance suitable for your location:

Option 2: How to deploy on Azure by manually uploading the application virtual appliance

With this option, you can manually upload the VHD appliance file to your Azure account.

Requirements

To deploy Segura® Platform on Azure, you must have the Segura® Platform virtual appliance in VHD format. To download the virtual appliance in VHD, go to the Support Portal.

Create a disk

1. Log in to the Microsoft Azure portal.

2. Use Azure Storage Explorer to upload the VHD file to your storage account.

3. In the Services category, select Disks.

4. Click + Create.

5. When creating the disk, fill in the following fields in the Basics tab as instructed below:

   • Source type: select Storage blob.
   • Source blob: select the VHD file uploaded in step 2.
   • OS type: select Linux.
   • VM generation: select Generation 1.
   • VM architecture: select x64.
   • Size: select a size equal to or larger than the VHD file size.

   All other fields can be filled in according to your environment needs.

6. Wait for the confirmation message “Your deployment is complete”.

Step 2: Create a virtual machine

1. After selecting the virtual appliance, click Create VM.

2. When creating the virtual machine, fill in the following fields:

   1. In the Basics tab, set Select inbound ports to HTTP 80 and HTTPS 443.
   2. In the Basics tab, set License type to Other.
   3. In the Basics tab, under Size, select the size defined in Segura® Platform sizing recommendation.
   4. In the Basics tab, set Public inbound ports to Allow selected ports.
   5. In the Monitoring tab, set Boot diagnostics to Disable.

   Make sure to fill in other required fields not listed above.

3. Click Create.

4. Wait for the confirmation message “Your deployment is complete”.

5. After deployment, click Go to resource.

6. On the virtual machine page, copy the Public IP.

7. Open your browser and paste the Public IP into the address bar.

By following these steps, the Segura® Platform activation screen will appear and the deployment will be complete.
