Install the EPM client on Microsoft Windows from the command line using the msiexec command.
Follow these steps:
Open Command Prompt, PowerShell, or Bash on Windows. Go to the folder where the EPM installer (.msi file) is stored. Run the following command:
msiexec /i "EPM.v.<version>.msi" /passive TOKEN=<token> URL=<IP or domain name> ADDLOCAL=Core,Vault,Automation /l log.txt
Remember to replace the values indicated by the greater than and less than signs (<>):
- Replace
<version>with the version of the EPM installer file, and keep the quotation marks. For example:"EPM.v.4.2.15.2.msi". - Replace
<token>with the installation key available in Segura® Platform, on the EPM parameters configuration page. - Replace
<IP or domain name>with the IP address of the Segura® Platform server, or with the domain name (when DNS is configured).
TOKEN and URL are required. If either is missing or invalid, the installer returns an error and does not proceed. No files are installed.
Version compatibility
The installer checks version compatibility before installing.
- If the versions are compatible, installation continues normally.
- If your Segura® Platform requires a newer agent version than the one you are installing, the installer blocks the installation and does not modify any files. The installer also logs the event to the Windows Event Viewer.
If the parameters are invalid or missing, or the version is incompatible, msiexec automatically rolls back the installation: no files are modified on the machine.
Reinstallation
Running the installation command creates a folder called IsolatedStorage in C:/ProgramData/ that stores the token and the Segura® Platform server IP.
You do not need to re-enter the token or Segura® Platform IP during reinstallation.
To ensure a complete reinstallation, use the REINSTALLMODE=AS parameter:
msiexec /i "EPM.v.<version>.msi" /passive ADDLOCAL=Core,Vault,Automation /l log.txt REINSTALLMODE=AS
