Glossary version registration

This document provides information about the Glossary version registration screen, which allows you to update the configuration of a glossary version used to identify devices during discovery operations on Segura. This screen is the same as the one displayed when clicking the New glossary, New domain glossary, or Change glossary buttons.

Path to access

  1. On Segura, in the navigation bar, hover over the Products menu and select Discovery.
  2. In the side menu, select Management > Glossary.
  3. On the Device Glossary screen, click the Actions button and, from the dropdown menu, select one of the options: New glossary or New domain glossary.

  4. In the selected record, in the Actions column, click on Change Glossary.

Settings tab

This tab provides information about defining the basic properties of the glossary version.

Item Type Required Description
Glossary name Text field No Displays the name of the glossary associated with this version.
Version ID string* Text field Yes Defines the identification string used to recognize the device during discovery scans.
Enabled* Radio button Yes Activates or deactivates the use of the glossary version.
Order* Quantity input Yes Sets the order of execution priority for this glossary version. Lower numbers indicate higher priority.

Device configuration tab

This tab provides information about defining the technical specification of the device associated with the glossary version. This option is only available when selecting the New domain glossary button, as it refers specifically to domain-based glossaries that require device configuration to properly identify and categorize discovered assets.

Item Type Required Description
Site* Dropdown menu Yes Defines the division the device is listed in.
Vendor* Dropdown menu Yes Defines the manufacturer related to the device.
Type* Dropdown menu Yes Defines the device type.
Product* Dropdown menu Yes The vendor’s product name. Also used for setting web session parameters.
Tags Text Field No Allows categorizing the entry using identification tags.

Credential configuration tab

This tab provides information about editing credentials associated with the glossary version.

Item Type Required Description
Type of default credential* Dropdown menu Yes Defines the credential used for standard operations.
Type of privileged credential* Dropdown menu Yes Defines the credential used for privileged operations.

Credential password change settings section

Item Type Required Description
Enable automatic change Toggle button No Enables the system to rotate passwords based on policies automatically.
Execution plugin Dropdown menu No Selects the plugin used for the change operation.
Password change template Dropdown menu No Selects the change template that defines the command sequence used for rotation.

Authentication settings section

Item Type Required Description
Use own credential to connect Toggle button No Defines whether the device should use its own credentials for access.
Access credential Dropdown menu No Selects the credential used to access the device.

Connectivity configuration tab

This tab provides information about editing the connectivity options used to access the device associated with the glossary version.

Item Type Required Description
Connectivity Dropdown menu No Select the desired connection protocol from the available list.
Port Text field No This field is automatically filled based on the selected Connectivity.
Add Button No Adds the selected connection protocol to the table.
Remove selected Button No Remove the selected connection protocol from the table.
Connectivity table Table No The connection protocol will be used to start a proxy session, change passwords, and connect to other modules. The fields are Connectivity and Port.

Extra domains tab

This tab provides information about editing additional domain associations for the glossary version.

Item Type Required Description
Add/Remove selected Button No Adds a row to the table.
Domain Dropdown menu No Defines the domain to which the device belongs.

Review tab

Use the Review tab to check all the information entered in the previous tabs.
