This document provides information on how to request the execution of an application on macOS devices protected by EPM, using policies that include a simple approval workflow.
Requirements
The application must be linked to a policy with an approval workflow.
Request execution with simple approval
- Left double click to open the desired application to open it through the OS or EPM macOS screen.
- In the window displayed, enter the following information:
- In the Justification field, enter the reason for the request.
- (If configured) Fill in the execution window fields (start and end date/time).

The approval is valid for a single execution within the approved window. After the execution, a new approval must be granted.
- Click Submit request.
After submitting the request, wait until EPM macOS verifies the approval status according to the visual cue. When the verification is done, a confirmation message will be displayed.
Behavior after submission

| Request approved | Privileged execution is automatically allowed within the defined execution window. |
| Request pending | EPM displays: "Your request is still pending administrator review." |
| Request rejected | EPM displays: "Your last request was rejected by the administrator." |
| Execution window expired | EPM displays: "Your request was approved, but the execution window has expired." |

The administrator approves or rejects the request directly through the Admin Web Interface. EPM blocks execution until the approval is processed.
