How to authenticate sessions with an A1 certificate in Segura® Browser

Prev Next

This document outlines the necessary steps to authenticate web sessions in Segura® Browser using an A1 certificate securely, leveraging all the benefits of PAM Core credentials directly on your workstation.

Requirements

  • Have Segura® Browser updated on your device.
  • Have a credential configured in PAM Core and linked to a valid A1 certificate.
  • Have permission to access the credential in question in PAM Core.
  • Have an activation token previously generated in the Segura® Platform.
  • The workstation must allow temporary import of certificates into the user’s certificate repository.

Authenticate using an A1 certificate

  1. Open Segura® Browser on your workstation and authenticate.
  2. In the browser, select the desired credential to start a web session.
Info

To start the session, you must agree to the recording. If you don’t agree, the session won’t be started. During the session, a visual recording indicator will appear on the corresponding tab.

  1. The system will download the A1 certificate and temporarily import it into the operating system's certificate store.
Info

The certificate is imported with export blocked, ensuring it can’t be extracted or used outside the control of Segura® Browser.

  1. Segura® Browser will begin the web session and perform authentication on the target site using the newly imported A1 certificate.
  2. At the end of the web session, Segura® Browser will automatically remove the certificate from the workstation repository, preventing any unauthorized further use.
