Executions run normally on EPM Windows workstations, but no recording appears in the Recorded Executions report. This document covers the recording settings that cause this problem and how to fix them.
Symptom
- The execution runs normally on the workstation.
- More than 15 minutes after the execution ends, it still has no recording in the Recorded Executions report.
Cause 1: The global recording parameter is disabled
The Enable recording session? parameter is set to No. Without this parameter, session recording is not available, and EPM Windows records no application.
Solution: Enable the global recording parameter
- On Segura® Platform, in the navigation bar, hover over the Products menu and select EPM.
- In the side menu, select Management > Settings > Parameters.
- In the General Settings section, set Enable recording session? to Yes.
- Click Save.
The parameter makes recording available. EPM Windows records an application only when an access policy also allows it. If the application is still not recorded, check Cause 2.
Cause 2: No access policy records the application
The application is not part of any access policy, or it is in an access policy with Record session for these applications set to Disabled. EPM Windows records only applications in an access policy with recording enabled.
Solution: Enable recording in an access policy
- On Segura® Platform, in the navigation bar, hover over the Products menu and select EPM > Policies > Windows > Access policies.
- Open the access policy that contains the application. If no policy contains it, create one. More information in How to configure application access policies for EPM Windows.
- In the Applications tab, set Record session for these applications to Enabled.
- Save the policy.
New executions of the application appear in the Recorded Executions report about 15 minutes after they end.
Check the video upload in the Event Viewer
If both settings are correct and the execution is still not recorded, check the video upload on the workstation:
- On the workstation, open the Windows Event Viewer.
- Check the EPM Windows events that record the sending of each video.
