The catalog shows the resources your organization can access. Selecting a resource does not open a connection to it: it opens a request that an administrator has to review and release first.
Requirements
You need an approved registration and a signed-in session on the portal. To sign in, see Sign in to the Vendor Access Portal.
Each resource in the catalog shows its name, its criticality, and its description. Where the administrator set an alias, the resource appears under that alias instead of the device name.
Steps
- On the Available resources tab, find the resource you need and select Request.
- In Justification, explain why you need the access. The request is not sent without it.
- Set Duration. Enter the amount, then select the unit: Minutes, Hours, Days, or Months. The portal refuses a value greater than the maximum set for that resource, and shows a message stating the limit.
- Optionally, in ITSM ticket (optional), reference the ticket you are working from.
- Select Submit request.
Verify your results
The request appears on the My requests tab as Awaiting portal release. An administrator reviews the request, links the credential you will use, and releases the access. The same request appears as Pending in the administrator's queue: one state, two labels.
You cannot cancel a request you have submitted. The My requests tab does not offer a cancel option, whether the request is pending or already approved.
A request that nobody reviews expires automatically after 6 hours. An expired request cannot be approved, so submit a new one if you still need the access.
After the administrator releases the request, Domum emails you an access link. When it's sent depends on your organization's Access policy:
- If the policy needs no approvers: the email is sent as soon as the request is released.
- If the policy needs approvers: the email is sent once the request is approved in the policy.
The portal does not generate its own link. The link arrives in the same access email Domum already uses for other flows.
To connect, open the link and complete multi-factor authentication.
The access then appears on your third-party desktop. On the card for that access, select Start session to connect, or Copy password to get the credential. The card also offers Details and Increase access time.
