How to register authenticator applications for multi-factor authentication

Prev Next

This document provides information on how to register authenticator applications in the Segura® Platform to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA). This method adds an extra layer of security to your login by requiring a one-time code generated by your application.

Requirements

  • User registered in the Segura® Platform.
  • A TOTP-based authenticator application installed on your device.

Register an authenticator application

  1. On Segura® Platform, in the navigation bar, click the User menu and select Configure MFA.

    Info

The availability of authentication methods is managed by your organization’s administrator. If the Authenticator Apps option is not visible on the setup or login screen, it means that this method has been disabled for your organization. In this case, use another available method.

  2. When you select the Authenticator Apps option, you’ll be directed to the Authenticator Apps screen, which displays a QR Code and an authentication code.

    Info

The authentication code displayed on this screen is provided as an alternative for the QR Code.

  3. Open your selected authenticator application and proceed with the application's instructions for either scanning the QR Code or manually entering the authentication code.

  4. The authenticator application will generate an authentication code. Copy this code to the Enter authentication code field.

  5. Click Validate to complete the registration process.

A success message will confirm the successful completion of the process. During your next login attempt, you’ll be prompted to provide an authentication token after entering your access credentials.
