Publish resources to the Vendor Access Portal

Prev Next

A resource appears in the portal catalog only after you publish it. Publishing also sets the longest session a third party can request for that resource. This is the main control you have over how long external access lasts.

Requirements

  • The Domum.Portal.Configure permission. The built-in Portal Configuration role carries it, and Domum Administrator includes it too. To assign a role, see How to manage user roles.
  • The Vendor Access Portal enabled for your tenant. To enable it, see Enable and configure the Vendor Access Portal.
  • The resource already registered in Domum Remote Access, and linked to the vendor organization in the vendor wizard. To do that, see How to add a vendor. Only that link is required here. Publishing itself is the next step, covered in this how-to.

Steps

  1. On Segura®, in the navigation bar, hover over the Products menu and select Domum Remote Access.
  2. In the side menu, select Management > Portal settings.
  3. Select the Resources tab.
  4. Find the device and organization pair in the list and select Edit on its row.
  5. Complete the resource details as the third party will see them:
    • Alias: the name shown in the catalog. Use a name a third party will recognize without knowing your internal naming. If you do not set an alias, the catalog shows the device name.
    • Criticality: how critical the resource is, shown to the third party in the catalog. The options are Low, Medium, and High.
    • Status: turn on to publish the resource in the catalog. The column then reads Published, or Unpublished when it is off.
    • Description: what the resource is for, in terms the third party understands.
    • Max duration: the longest session a third party can request for this resource. This is a hard cap, not a default: a third party cannot request longer, so setting it too high grants long-lived external access. Set the amount and the unit. The form blocks saving without a unit and shows a validation message.
  6. Save the resource.

Two controls carry the same published state. The Published checkbox in the device grid of the vendor wizard, and the Status field in this Edit form, reflect one another.

Verify your results

Sign in to the portal as an approved third party whose organization has this resource. The resource appears in the Resources tab of the catalog with the alias you set. The request form refuses any duration above the maximum you defined.
